Let's Review: Breakfast Hill Golf Club
Greenland, New Hampshire
The Skinny
Breakfast Hill is one of the better New England public courses that offers an equal parts fun and thoughtful round.

Hole #13
The Course
I don’t think people realize how much fun this course is until they are done playing. It tempts you to play from the tips, which come in at 6500 yards and a reasonable 71.5 course rating, but the length only shows itself on a few comically long holes.
Breakfast Hill encourages you to score well; the fairways are not particularly narrow and the greens are pretty large. It is quick to lull you into a false sense of confidence, however, as there are perfectly placed fairway bunkers and hidden undulations on the green that are sure to throw you for a loop.
You have a smile on your face pretty much the entire round. There was a signature hole candidate once every three or four holes, but nothing that is going to absolutely blow you away. Expect a fun round and some decent scores, but once you let your guard down the course will show its teeth.
The Price
Most expensive it will get is $86 with a cart on the weekend. Worth it, and considering the lack of sales tax you pay on alcohol in the state, you’re actually coming out ahead.
Signature Hole
The short par 4 10th is a downhill, drivable (depending on the tees you play) treat that, as with most driveable par 4s, has a pretty serious risk/reward calculation. This hole plays downhill and has a dogleg left. 260 yards and straight and you’re likely in the out of bounds that lines the right hand side of the hole near the green. Bail out to the left of the green and you’re on the 1st fairway, not the worst spot to be.

Hole #10
Grabbing a Bite
The course has B- quality food at its bar, but there’s something to be said about having the pre-wrapped hotdogs and hamburgers ready. It speeds up the turn and is decent fuel before the aforementioned driveable 10th.
Nice to Know
Grass range and carts with GPS check two essential boxes. It’s $7 for range balls and is worth it to pretend like you’re going to hone in your wedge distances as opposed to hitting 30 drives.
How many sleeves: 2.
There are enough hazards to keep you on your toes and like most northeast courses, woods align 75% of holes, but a lot of holes end up on top of each other, presenting plenty of bail outs.
